Protecting Your Anonymity
Before entering ZOOM, you may have the opportunity the change your displayed name. When your name is shown in an editable area, you can change it to protect your anonymity.
If you are in a meeting and need to change your name (or if you had not changed it before), you have various options:
- If you are using a PC
- Right-click your picture and click “Rename”, or
- Click the 3 dots in the upper-right corned of your picture and click “Rename”, or
- Click the Participants icon at the bottom, point to your name, click on “More” and click “Rename”
- If you are using a Phone/iPhone, Tablet/iPad:
- Tap your picture to display the menu at the bottom, then
- Tap “Participants”, then find yourself in the list and
- Tap your name to display a small menu, then
- Tap “Rename”
After you change your name, Tap/Press/Click OK.
Keyboard Shortcuts
While in ZOOM and using a PC, sometimes it is more convenient to use the keyboard instead of the mouse. Here are just a few of the many keyboard shortcuts that are available:

| F6 | Navigate among ZOOM popup windows |
| Space | When muted, hold down the space bar to speak. You will be unmuted as long as the space bar is down. When you let go, you will be muted again. (Similar to a push-to-talk button on a microphone) |
| Alt+A | Mute / unmute Audio |
| Alt+V | Start / Stop Video |
| Alt+Y | Raise / Lower your hand |
| PgUp PgDn | View next/previous video streams in gallery view |
| Alt+H | Show / Hide the chat panel |
| Alt+U | Show / Hide Participants panel |
| For more shortcuts, display the settings screen and click on “Keyboard Shortcuts” (one way to get there is to change your Audio or Video settings) |
